NEW TEAK DECKS

WE DO TEAK DECKS

The secret of laying a good teak deck is in the preparation. We will strip the deck back to the bare structure. In the case of a steel deck, we grind back to shiny metal and prime the bare steel.

Once the steel has been cleaned and primed, a layer of epoxy fairing is laid.
Studs are welded to the deck so the plywood can be bolted down as well as glued onto the newly faired deck.

The plywood provides a smooth surface for the teak deck itself. Each teak plank is individually laid.
Every seam is cleaned and primed to ensure the rubber compound sticks to the wood. A tape is laid in the bottom of each seam to stop the rubber splitting as the wood expands and contracts.

When the rubber has cured the decks are sanded to reveal your new teak deck in all it's glory.
